Difficulties of Nuclear Power Plant Cleanup at Fukushima

Article details the continuing difficulty of dealing with waste water seepage at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant as “ice wall” formation plans and cement injection have continued to fail.  Additional current difficulties include the possibility that the 6,000 workers at the plant may meet their annual limits on acceptable radiation exposure.  Costs of fully decommissioning the reactors is expected to cost 10 trillion yen in total and take 40 years to complete.
